Thriving Race Results

The weekend that was Sunshinecoast 70.3. After a long winter the Tri season kicked off and boy was it worth the wait. The #thriveteam was out in force with 7 athletes taking on the challenge. With so many outstanding performances its hard to know where to start. The competition was fierce with this being the 1st qualifying race for World Championship 70.3 next year in auckland. The #thriveteam has our 1st official qualifier with our own Maddy Clarke collecting her spot with a huge PB. What is even more unbelievable is that Maddy is still a 1st year athlete, and lining up with the best girls out there.

Next on the outstanding achievement was Sharon Andronaco. Sharon Pb'd by over 20min as well as a 1/2 marathon Pb and broke the 2 hour mark on the run. This was such a deserving result after years of consistency. The best part of this is Sharon finally trusted the #thriveendurance approach and followed the plan exactly. Her words exactly were "the first half of the bike I felt I was riding too easy". Sharon negative split the Bike and the run course. Perceived effort for the race was the easiest she has done and yet she had her fastest race to date. This speaks my words exactly "hard doesn't = fast in endurance events. Its all about controlling your energy outputs"

Marckus Brown raced strong and Coach Chris after a lot of hard work and following the process is getting back close to his best. There is great signs to come for our 3 UM athletes. Well done to all the #thriveteam you did yourself and all of us proud.
